Important CIGNA Update
Please remember, as a CIGNA participating provider, you have agreed to treat CIGNA patients and provide usual and customary chiropractic care for the $45.00 global fee. The global fee covers ALL routine/standard chiropractic covered services rendered to the patient on each date of service. This includes but is not limited to the following:
- Spinal and extraspinal manipulations (CMT’s)
- Examinations (E/M visits)
- Radiographs
- ALL standard chiropractic covered services (including but not limited to…)
- electrical stimulation
- mechanical traction
- ultrasound
- massage therapy
- manual therapy
- diathermy
- hot and cold packs
- dry hydrotherapy
- therapeutic exercises
- neuromuscular reeducation
It is important to note that you cannot refuse to provide a needed covered service to a CIGNA member nor may you balance bill the member for any covered services that you may provide. Payment for all covered services provided is included in the global payment of $45.00.
Please note: If the EOB shows the $45.00 allowable but shows $.00 payment for all other routine chiropractic services that you provided, then you cannot balance bill the member for those services!
Additionally, as a CIGNA participating provider, you CANNOT send a patient elsewhere for an x-ray. Again, per your CNC contract, you must provide usual and customary chiropractic care for $45 per visit which includes any needed radiographs. |
