ORTHOTICS/DME   BCBS Federal Employee Program (FEP)

Just a reminder that orthotics and durable medical equipment (DME) are non-covered services for the Federal Employee Plans, despite what you may be told when you verify benefits!  You may bill members directly for this non-covered service, provided you first obtain a signed waiver from the member specifically notifying the patient of the orthotic or DME that is non-covered.  All such waivers must be maintained in the member's healthcare record.
