All claims for COVERED SERVICES provided to a beneficiary of a CNC contracted payor MUST be submitted to CNC.  Participating providers who fail to submit all such claims to CNC may lose thier status as a Network Provider.   (This includes any self-funded groups who utilize a CNC contracted payor as a third party administrator.)

ALT MED BLUESM

(A BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina Discount Program)

As a member of CNC, you are active as a participating provider under CNC’s contract with BlueCross Blue Shield of North Carolina’s Alt Med Blue program effective as of the date of your CNC contract.

This program is simply a discount program for non-covered services. There is no benefit paid by BCBSNC and no claims to file. The BCBSNC member uses this program simply by presenting their BCBSNC ID card to you. The discount amount is 25% off your usual and customary charge. 

This program does not supersede BCBSNC benefits. If the services you perform are for a covered benefit, you must submit the member’s BCBSNC claim through CNC. The discount cannot be used for co-payments, deductibles or coinsurance.
